Beside the Willows offers this lovingly restored Train Carriage Cabin set in the heart of North Norfolk in the quintessential village of Itteringham. Offering scenic countryside walks, a traditional Village Shop and an 18th Century British Pub ( with its very own Gin Distillery! ) Its a bit of a mystery as to how the Carriage came to be here as there are no tracks anywhere to be seen but it has always been part of our life, our vision to mindfully restore and salvage pieces where possible has allowed for us to create a truly unique space with an equal mix of luxury and rustic charm . ◦Once parked in your private parking spot follow the arrows along the path to the Carriage. The gate leads you into a small secluded garden with decking area for unwinding and alfresco dining. The entrance is through the French doors, once in you will find yourself snuggled up in the "Roomette" ( Train lingo for bedroom for 2 with living quarters ) the space provides a small woodburner with seating area for cosy evenings by the fire with a good book or tucked up in bed. An archway leads into a homely kitchenette with Redwood worktop and breakfast bar overlooking the wildflower water meadows beyond where you can spot our honey bees, barn owls, Heron and Muntjac Deer, to name a few... An Alder door, milled from our small woodlands, leads into the bathroom offering a shower room and loo with a unique sink unit made from a Mason Cash mixing bowl. We have provided a private decking area to enjoy during your stay-Feel free to take a dip in the river. Access is alongside the garden gate via a small bridge and continued with a timber walkway . During your stay you are welcome to wander the water meadows adjacent to the decking, we encourage our guests to be mindful of the natural environments flora and forna and keep to the paths . Should you wish to use the clearing in the woods for campfires please advise on booking and we will stock up on timber. All except clearly marked private family garden Available 24/7 via Airbnb or in person The village of Itteringham has plenty to offer from its very own community run Shop & Cafe offering all sorts of delicious locally sourced produce to plentiful countryside walks. Blickling and Mannington Hall are just a stones throw away ( 1 mile ) Conveniently located at the end of our long private driveway sits The Walpole Arms, dating back to 18th Century is a quintessential Pub with an intimate atmosphere with boasting its very own gin distillery! The traditional bar offers fine wines and real ale’s inc Woodfords Wherry and Adnams Southwold . Perfect for cosy nights by the fire or dining alfresco under the vine covered terrace. The Market town of Aylsham is a mere 5 miles away with a Tesco’s and great local farmers market every first Saturday of the month . The Historic Market town of Holt is approximately 20 mins away by car and boasts a great selection of boutique shops and restaurants. For coastal exploration in just under 30 mins you can reach the seaside villages of Cley~Blakeney~Stifkey~Sheringham and many more nestled all along the coastal road. Simply brimming with things to do and places to just~ be. Free Parking on the premises. Within walking distance of Blickling & Mannington Hall . Beside the Willows is part of our family home and with that comes the normal ebb and flow of any home. For instance our friendly pets may greet you on arrival so please be mindful to always close the gate after you and please drive carefully to your parking space. The Carriage is located at the bottom of our garden ( approximately 40 metres from our family home ) along the grass pathway with solar lights to help in the evening, once through your gate there is complete privacy with the terrace facing the woodlands beyond.

From Norwich take the A140 towards Aylsham, continue onto the Blickling road passing Blickling Hall , from Blickling Hall carry on 1.7miles until you reach a right hand turning with signage to Itteringham shop. Keep an eye out for The Walpole Arms, our driveway is on the right hand side next to Itteringham Mill marked "The Mill Cottage/Beside The Willows" follow the driveway around to The Main gate and pas through to the marked parking space at the side of the house infant of the garage doors.
